Birds and Planes

Chickens by Angus Carlyle

The sound file is was recorded from just outside the doorway to the chicken roost, a metal roofed structure, covered with netting that extends down over the open sides. Water dribbles into the chickens small, gutter-like trough, the sky has clouded over and the humidity has risen slightly. With the winds still disrupted from the seasonal expectations in the wake of the typhoon, the JAL JL 5232 comes flying into Runway B from the North, keeping just to its regulation 40 metres above the Shimamura farmstead. The recording is unprocessed apart from a short fade in and a short fade out and the processing involved in turning it into this much lower resolution MP3.
